Hoodlums Pelt Tinubu’s Convoy, Sanwo-Olu’s Press Crew Bus Windshield Smashed, Two Journalists Injured

Hoodlums, on Sunday, pelted the convoy of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, including the press crew of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State, South-West, Nigeria.

The attack, it was gathered, left two journalists with injuries and were said to be receiving medical attention.

The incident occurred at Adeniji end of Isale Eko after the APC candidate had visited the Oba of Lagos on his way home after June 8 victory at the primaries.

Tinubu was said to be headed to his Bourdilon Ikoyi residence from the palace when the thugs went on a pelting spree with stones and other dangerous weapons hurled at the convoy as it drove from the palace.

Some of them were wielding swords and cutlasses smashing side glasses and front windshields of vehicles that were attached.

The bus conveying journalists and the backup security car on the convoy were said to be the most affected.

The former Lagos State governor said to have arrived in Lagos on Sunday after the Ekiti State governorship election.

He was said to have been received with pomp at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja before proceeding to the palace of the Oba of Lagos.
