How I Escaped Death Day To Announcement Of Election Result – Okpebholo

Newly sworn-in Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has disclosed how he escaped death while awaiting results a day after the closely-contested September 21 governorship election.

He said he suddenly discovered a dead bat on his bed, attributing his survival to divine intervention, stating, “God Almighty saved me.”

Stonix News reports that bats could be considered in western world as bad luck or associated with shape-shifting demons and vampires, with  several horror stories built upon them, they’re considered as carriers of disease germs and should not be touched with bare hands in some other parts of the world.

Speaking at a praise concert during his inauguration, Okpebholo urged Edo residents and global democracy supporters to place their trust solely in God, avoiding lesser powers.

“I want to thank God. In this last election, while I was praising God, they (the enemies of democracy) were busy operating from Arise.

“They were busy operating from Facebook. They were busy operating from Channels,” Okpebholo said.

He continued, “I knew the secret. Few days to the election, they said this guy (Okpebholo) was crazy. We gathered to praise God in this state.

“They said what was he doing? But I was listening to the voice of God. I won the battle.”

The Governor recalled his discovery of the dead bat on the morning of Sunday, September 22, 2024. “I came into my room and found a bat that died on my bed, without me shooting any arrow, but the Spirit of God was there. The arrow of God settled it. The hand of God delivered me.”

Okpebholo also expressed gratitude to the men of God who supported him, adding, “I am grateful to those who believed that with God all things are possible.”

He urged his supporters, “Trust in God alone, because He will do it for you.”

The Governor revealed that during his previous senatorial contest in 2023 and the 2024 governorship race, he did not seek help from any native doctor, prophet, or shrine.
