TROOPS of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Joint Task Force North East, recorded another major victory in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in Borno State, rescuing 86 kidnapped victims and dismantling a Boko Haram/ISWAP camp.

According to a statement issued by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, the troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, under Sector 2 OPHK, engaged the terrorists on 9 November 2025 at Dutse Kura after discovering that the insurgents were abducting civilians and seizing vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.

The troops reportedly intercepted and repelled the attack, pursuing the fleeing terrorists towards Mangari.

In a follow-up operation near their camp, the soldiers overpowered the insurgents, forcing them to flee in disarray.

A subsequent search of the area led to the discovery and destruction of 11 makeshift terrorist structures and the successful rescue of 86 kidnapped victims, including men, women, and children.

Recovered items included one AK-47 rifle, five magazines containing 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles.

The terrorists’ camp was destroyed on site after clearance operations.

In a related operation, troops deployed at Mangada arrested 29 terrorist logistics suppliers en route to Chilaria.

The suspects were found with various items, including two pickup vans and a tricycle loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), about 1,000 litres of petrol in jerricans, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tyres, a large cache of medical supplies, and significant quantities of foodstuffs and provisions.

The military confirmed that all operations were executed successfully with no casualties among the troops.

The Military High Command commended the bravery and professionalism of the troops and urged the Operation HADIN KAI command to sustain the offensive to deny terrorists freedom of movement and operation across the North East theatre.
