HOUSTON Police Department, on Monday, said an intoxicated driver slammed into two people near a METRO bus stop, killing one of them.
According to reports, officers received a call of the crash on Westheimer near Briarhurst at 7:24 p.m.
The initial call described a single-vehicle crash into a light pole, with one person confirmed dead.
Police later elaborated on details, adding that a woman in her 40s was driving eastbound on Westheimer at a high rate of speed when she hit two pedestrians who were by a bus stop shelter with other people waiting.
One person died while the other was critically injured, police said.
Houston Police Department also added that the driver was stable and taken into custody.
Police didn’t disclose details on what charges the woman may face.
