Israeli Prime Minister Reveals Secret Prostate Cancer Battle at 76

By Micheal Chukwuebuka

THE Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has disclosed that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, marking the first time the long-serving Israeli leader has publicly acknowledged battling the disease.

The 76-year-old made the revelation while sharing details from his annual medical examination.

According to a statement released on social media, doctors discovered a malignant tumor measuring less than one centimeter in his prostate during a follow-up check after surgery for an enlarged prostate in December 2024.

Medical reports released by the Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that the cancer was detected early and had not spread to other parts of his body. One of the doctors’ letters described it as a “very small lesion with no metastases,” indicating a high chance of successful treatment.

An Israeli source familiar with the matter said the diagnosis was made several months ago, after which Netanyahu began targeted radiation therapy. He reportedly completed the treatment recently.

Netanyahu stated that the therapy was successful and that the tumor has “completely disappeared.” He added that he is now in good health, describing the condition as a minor issue that has been fully treated.

The prime minister also explained that he delayed releasing his medical report by about two months to avoid the information being used for political purposes, particularly by Iran.
