I’ve Never Asked Anyone To Beg For Money On My Behalf – Bedridden Mr Ibu Says

Michael Chukwuebuka, Reporting

Nollywood’s actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, says he hasn’t instructed anyone to solicit funds on his behalf over his health condition.

He said though he’s unwell, his condition was not as critical as some people are making it look like, adding that “if he wants to die, he will let the public know.”

The comic movie star has been bedridden for an undisclosed illness for sometime.

He made the statement in a video posted on the social media, following reports of some elements requesting funds donation on his behalf.

Stonix News reports that Mr Mbu was recently rumoured as dead by some bloggers which turned out to be untrue.

Speaking from a hospital’s bed with his wife by his side, the veteran actor lamented how some people were taking advantage of his health condition to make fortunes.

“Some people have seen me like this. They really want to hear from me. All they know is to sell me free of charge. It didn’t work. God has risen me up (sic).

“I’m here with my wife. I’m not saying all my friends that are supposed to pay me a visit and bring me money cannot give me.

“I’ve never asked anyone to beg people for money on my behalf. It is not as critical as they are talking now.

“They should stop. If I want to die, I’ll let you know, since you’re interested,” he said.

His wife also said his Instagram account was hacked and the hackers were using it to perpetrate fraud on unwary people.

She said whoever wanted to assist her husband should come to the hospital or contact her directly.
