The Isoko nation in Delta State has endorsed the Senatorial ambition of Hon. Thomas Joel-Onowakpo as a senatorial aspirant, describing him as a worthy son.
Stonix News reports that Joel-Onowakpo wants to represent Delta South Senatorial District in the Senate come 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Leader of APC in the district, Chief Lucky Esigiie, made the declaration while receiving Hon. Joel-Onowakpo and his supporters at Olomoro, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Chief Esigie, popularly known as Esco, said they were not looking any further in search for a credible leader that would effectively represent Isoko Nation and Delta South Senatorial District than Hon Joel-Onowakpo, whom they averred, has the characteristics needed in a leader.
Chief Esigie said APC in Delta South Senatorial District, has implicit confidence in the ability of the former Managing Director of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR) to represent the people and will therefore be given all support and encouragement to emerge victorious come 2023.
Speaking in the same vein, the former House of Assembly member representing Isoko South Constituency 1 in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Benjamin Esien, stated that with the emergence of Joel Onowakpo, others with Senatorial ambition need not show up again, because he is a square peg in a square hole.
Leader of Isoko North APC, Dcn. Isaac Osiobe, prayed God, who gives power, to give it to His son Joel-Onowakpo.
The eldest man present at the occasion, Chief Omo Oneke, equally prayed to God for his success at the poll.
Responding, the aspirant, Hon. Joel-Onowakpo, appreciated Chief Esigie and the leadership of APC in Isoko Nation, describing their supports as monumental.
He assured the leadership of APC in Isoko, Delta South Senatorial District and Delta State at large that he would not let them down, saying he’s been emboldened to continue to strategise for the real contest.
