Kogi Monarch Urges Public To Disregard Letterhead Messages From His Palace

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

A cry for urgent help and caution has emanated from the palace of a first-class traditional ruler in Kogi State, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebayo Joseph Ikusemoro, the Olubunu of Bunuland that some of his children are using his good name and letterhead to defraud people.

The Olubunu of Bunuland, who’s also the Chairman, Bunu Traditional Council, made the disclosure in a statement sighted by Stonix News on Tuesday.

The statement, which was made available by the heir apparent to the throne, Prince Josiah Ikusemoro, accused children of the king of taking advantage of his old age to perpetrate evil.

According to him, like biblical sons of Eli, some of his children are unilaterally using his letterhead to seek financial favour and approve appointments of village heads without his consent as the paramount ruler of Bunuland.

The statement, therefore, affirmed that Oba Ikusemoro has not authorized anyone to write or sign any letter on his behalf or that of Bunu Traditional Council, reiterating that he has not given any of his sons the backing to represent or act on his behalf.

“Those who may be concerned should disregard any purported letters that may have been signed on behalf of His Royal Majesty, such letters are null and void.

”We urge the general public to seek clarification on any correspondence purportedly emanating from His Royal Majesty by contacting the Royal Father himself, not through any of his sons” the statement added.
