POPULAR Aisha Alkali Wakil (a.k.a Mama Boko Haram), alongside Tahiru Alhaji, Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Shoyode,
have bagged 14 years jail term for money laundering and conspiracy-related offences.
Their conviction was secured by the Maiduguri Zonal Command of the EFCC and were sentenced by Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, on Thursday, September 29, 2022.
Stonix News recalled that Mama Boko Haram was sentenced to five years imprisonment on two-count charges of conspiracy and obtaining over N71 million by false pretence and was was jailed on June 15, 2022.
The defendants were initially charged with conspiring and obtaining N15m by false pretences on two-count before Justice Kumaliya on September 14, 2020.
In addition to her previous jail terms, another 14 years have been added making it a total of 19 years.
She and the other defendants were sentenced to seven years for the offences of conspiracy and another seven years for obtaining money by false pretences.
The convicts made their ways to the Correctional Centers when they falsely obtained the sum of N15 million from a petitioner, in the guise of providing solar energy for his use and refused to render the services or returned his money to him.
