HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man and a woman were killed Thursday afternoon in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide in a residential neighbourhood of northwest Harris County.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 9700 block of Pine Pass Drive. When they arrived, they found a man dead at the scene from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A woman was also discovered with gunshot injuries. Paramedics transported her to a nearby hospital, but she was later pronounced dead.
As of press time, her identity, along with the man’s, had not been released pending notification of family members.
Investigators have not disclosed what may have led to the shooting, but said the incident is being treated as a domestic-related case.
Crime scene units and homicide detectives remained at the location for several hours Thursday evening, speaking with neighbours and gathering evidence.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the case to come forward as the investigation continues.
