IN Gbugbu, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, suspected bandits reportedly kidnapped a well-known petrol dealer, Alhaji Abbas, along with his manager, Abubakar Issa.
The abduction took place on Thursday evening around 7:20 p.m. along the Gbugbu–Ndeji Road while the duo was on their way home from work.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, who arrived on motorcycles, fired multiple gunshots into the air to disperse bystanders before capturing the victims.
According to sources, the kidnappers also stole an unspecified sum of money and set the victims’ vehicle on fire before fleeing into the nearby forest.
The criminals have since reached out to the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of N200 million for their release.
This is reportedly not the first time Alhaji Abbas has been targeted, as he previously survived a similar attack by bandits in the area.
