POLICE operatives attached to Surulere Division, Lagos, have arrested two members of a one-chance gang notorious for operating along Funsho Williams Avenue.
Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Ikeja-Lagos.
He gave the names of the suspects as Usman Hussani, 21, and Ebuka Ukechukwu, aged 25.
He said they were arrested following a distress call received from a victim shortly after he was dispossessed of his phone and other valuables.
Recovered from the suspects, according to Hundeyin, are two mobile phones, two SIM cards, one Sterling Bank ATM card, one UBA cheque booklet belonging to one Ugochukwu (other names withheld) and one brand new tricycle with Reg. Number LSD 360 QN used by the gang.
He said the suspects would be arraigned once investigations were concluded.
Hundeyin quoted the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, as encouraging residents of Lagos State “to always remain vigilant and keen-eyed, especially when boarding public vehicles.”
