Former Arsenal and Ghanaian international midfielder, Thomas Partey, has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), following an extensive investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
The charges stem from allegations made by three different women, with the incidents said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022. Partey, 31, is set to appear before Westminster Magistrates Court on August 5, 2025.
Jaswant Narwal, Chief Crown Prosecutor at the CPS, confirmed the development in a statement on Friday, noting that the decision to charge followed a meticulous review of a comprehensive file of evidence.
The CPS emphasized the importance of preserving the integrity of the legal process, urging the public and media to avoid comments that could compromise a fair trial.
