A suicide bomber, believed to be affiliated with Boko Haram, detonated an explosive device at a busy fish market in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday night, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals and injuries to seven others.
According to security sources and eyewitnesses, the assailant entered the market disguised as a civilian before triggering the explosion.
The blast instantly killed the bomber along with 10 civilians, while seven other people sustained injuries of varying severity.
Troops from the Nigerian Army and emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured victims were transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Security forces have since sealed off the area to prevent any additional attacks from potential suicide bombers.
