Suspected Assassins Kill Head Of Yukuben Chiefdom In Taraba

Muhammed Abubakar, Reporting

Suspected assassins have reportedly killed a kindred head of Yukuben Chiefdom in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The third class chief, Udeng Ibrahim, was abducted by the assassins on Wednesday while returning from a peace meeting between the traditional rulers of Takum and Ussa, on a motorcycle with his son.

His son was identified as Musa Ibrahim.

Stonix News gathered that both the traditional ruler and his son were abducted in Kpambo along Takum Kashimbila road at about 7:00p.m.

Following the abduction, the villagers were said to have mobilized for a search for the chief and his son throughout Wednesday, Thursday and Friday but could not find them within the area.

The bodies of the two persons were, however, later found in the early hours of Saturday along the road.

A former chairman, Takum Local Government Area, who is now Special Adviser to Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State, confirmed the incident to journalists.

He said that the traditional ruler was his kindred head and was abducted and later killed by persons yet to be unmasked.
