Teachers, Embrace Technology For Growth

TODAY, my attention is, specifically, on teachers, today, and any other person who intends to grow their career in this digital age.

Whether we like it or not, we cannot deny the blessings that technology has brought to us in different spheres of life. Unfortunately, many teachers find it difficult to accept these blessings.

Today, we deal with learners who are well-versed in the use of technology; we cannot afford to be ignorant or unschooled. We need to step up in our games.

As a teacher, how well do you explore technological tools, applications, and social media? Do you know that social media are not only for catching up gists and keeping tabs on friends and family members? There are opportunities for growth and expansion on social media.

Do you know, dear teacher, Facebook and WhatsApp are not the only social media platforms available? No be yahoo boys and girls dey use Instagram as you presume; you sef fit use am. You can find and create educative content on TikTok as well. And you see that LinkedIn? It’s not a taboo for teachers.

Let people see you beyond the walls of your school; it is time to go global. There are workshops and seminars online that are specifically for your growth; some are free while some are not; you can explore these opportunities for your personal and career advancement. Are you not tired of being a local champion?

And also, you can watch YouTube videos and tutorials on your area of specialization. You don’t have to teach your students what you were taught in 1990; No, please! Upgrade and update yourself. Who says you are above learning? When you stop learning, you start dying.

Sit up! Stand up! Step up! Move up! Shine! Dear teacher, shine! The international arena awaits you.
