VETERAN journalist and entrepreneur, Sola Adebayo, popularly called Asiwaju (Trailblazer), will, Saturday, celebrate his mother, Alhaja Rafatu Anike Ibiladun Adebayo, who recently clocked 90 years old.
The celebration of Mama Adebayo, while alive, holds tomorrow Saturday 7, 2024, 10:00a.m at the popular Jogo Centre, along Liberty Road in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Feelers, as of Friday, revealed that the stage is absolutely set for the 90th birthday celebration of benevolent Alhaja Adebayo with dignitaries across the country, including some past and present political office holders, expected.
Journalist Adebayo, before delving into private business in Delta State, had meritoriously worked for national dailies such as Vanguard, The Punch, National Mirror.
As a pastime, the veteran, who commands immense clout in the journalism profession and among political juggernauts, still pens for Leadership Newspaper at intervals in spite of his numerous business engagements.
Further expected at the event at the country’s largest city by geographical area, on Saturday are former governors, ministers, and members of the National Assembly to the Oyo State capital.
Some governors reportedly expected at the occasion include governors of Delta, Taraba and Oyo states, Sheriff Oborevwori, Agbu Kefas and Seyi Makinde respectively.
Also, some ministers and members of the National Assembly from the Niger Delta and the South West, including Senator Ede Dafinone, Senator Thomas Onowhakpo, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi and Mr Ben Etanabene are expected.
Besides business moguls, commissioners and political appointees in Delta State, some editors of various media, executives of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the national and states levels are expected at the event.
Meanwhile, legendary Yoruba Juju music maestro, King Sunny Ade, is expected to perform as a special guest artiste.
Also, the Urhobo Royal Ema Dancers of Agbarha Kingdom and cultural troupes from Ijaw, Itsekiri will also perform at the ceremony.
