Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting
AFTER much incommunicado, the Nigeria’s Department of State Service (DSS) has confirmed that the embattled governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, is in their custody.
Stonix News had reported late Friday night that Mr Emefiele was suspended as CBN Governor by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while he’s being investigated.
Shortly after the suspension went viral, feelers had it that the DSS, which has been on his trail since the twilight of the last Buhari administration over some terrorism allegations, had got him arrested
In a terse statement signed by Peter Afunanya PhD, Public Relations Officer of Department of State Services, National Headquarters, Abuja, the security agency warned the media to “apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.”
The statement reads thus;
EMEFIELE, NOW IN DSS CUSTODY
