No fewer than 2,500 Ulamas are gathered in Kano, the Kano State capital, praying for the presidential aspiration of former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu.

This was disclosed by Director General, Bola Tinubu Support Group, Alhaji Abdulmumin Jibril, during a chat at Channels Politics Today monitored by Stonix News on Monday evening.

Stonix News reports that Ulamas
are the guardians, transmitters, and interpreters of religious knowledge in Islam, including Islamic doctrine and law.”

Asked why he’s sounding so spiritual about the aspiration of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Tinubu, Jibril excitedly quipped that he (Tinubu) has been ‘ordained’ to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the over 2,500 Ulamas, whom the anchor of Politics Today, Seun Okinbaloye saw and made reference to during the chat, were contracted to provide spiritual support for Chief Tinubu, the Islamic way.

“As far as I am concerned, you saw the Nigerian people within my own domain, within Kano, you saw people and you heard what they are saying.

“It is still APC. Let me tell you something; go around the street everybody is aware of what they are doing.

“We have about 2,500 Ulamas from all over Kano gathered. These are spiritual people.

“These are people respected in the community. They’ve spent their time doing in their Islamic way, praying for the country, for peace, security of the country but specifically a special prayer conducted for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“If you look at it spiritually, you’ll know he has been ordained,” Abdulmumin declared excitedly.

Alhaji Jibril, in the chat when asked, stated categorically that Tinubu will be contesting for presidency though he hasn’t formally declared his intention.

“Absolutely he is running for office and it is wrong. So much is going on and sometimes I find it a bit funny when I hear people say ‘is he contesting or not?’

“The only thing that is left is just the formality of organizing an event where he is going to express his aspirations just to notify the public that he is going to contest.

“The issue off Bola Tinubu contesting is a done deal he’s going to contest in the elections I can assure you that.

“As far as APC as a party is concerned, if we want to be fair to ourselves, we would agree that the president should be shifted to the Southern part of the country and that is my opinion.

“People can hold their opinion of saying presidency should come to the North.

“Anybody who wants to be firm and who wants to be a good party member should understand that the presidency should go to the South,” the DG, Tinubu Support Group noted.

Stonix News recalls that the Kano State Council of Ulamas, in December 2020, debunked the claim that the lslamic body had endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2023 presidential ticket.

The state chairman, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, had stated this in Kano during an interview with journalists.

Khalil, who had expressed surprise over media reports, said the story was not true as the body had diverse political inclinations and views, saying that they couldn’t have made such an endorsement.
