Muhammed Abubakar, Reporting
Finally, former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially informed Nigerian’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, of his intention to contest for the 2023 presidential election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC national leader, who met with the president in his office on Monday at the presidential villa in Abuja, made the disclosure after while speaking with correspondents at the Villa.
Tinubu avered that his ambition to be president of Nigeria has been a life-long ambition.

He noted that with what he did in Lagos as governor between 1999 and 2007, he possesses the capacity to rule Nigeria.
Tinubu, however, refused to be drawn to respond to the question of some support groups calling on his likely opponent in the APC primaries, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to declare his interest in the race.
He simply told the reporters that he would not be dragged to discuss an individual.
When asked why he would want to transmute from a kingmaker to being the king, Tinubu said there was nothing that stops a kingmaker from becoming the king unless he has blood in his hands.
“I answer that with categorical ‘yes!’ I’ve informed the President of my intention, but I have not informed Nigerians yet.
“I’m still consulting. And I have no problem consulting. And I’ve noticed that a parameter of limitation to the extent of how many people will I consult.
“You will soon hear, all you want to hear is the categorical declaration.
“You’ve gotten that truth from me that I have informed Mr. President of my ambition, I did not expect more answers than that,” he noted.
Tinubu’s response has put paid to months of speculations on whether he would gun for the presidential ticket of the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections or not.
