GOVERNOR of Benue State, Dr Samuel Ortom, has publicly apologised to Nigerians for his recent ‘offensive’ statement where he swore never to support any Fulani man to emerge president of Nigeria.
Stonix News recalled that on Sunday, 6th of November, in a meeting with four of the party’s governors, Ortom, reacting to the recent killing in his LGA, declared that he will never support or campaign for another Fulani man as President of Nigeria.
The statement did not go down well with many Nigerians, causing public stir and mixed reactions.
Governor Ortom, during his visit to Bauch State governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, on Wednesday, made his apologies while addressing journalists present at the venue.
“I want to say that, that was not what I meant when I was captured saying that.
“But all the same, I know that it would amount to logical fallacy if people have taken it the way I did.
“But I want to say to those who are offended by my remarks, I am very sorry, I didn’t mean that,” he pleaded.
