THREE suspected killers of student of the Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Rachael Opadele and United States-based Olugbenga Owolabi have been arrested by the Nigeria Police.

Rachael Opadele
This is coming three months after launching a high-powered investigation into their deaths.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the arrest of the suspected murderers on Thursday, 22nd December 2022.

Olugbenga Owolabi
Recall that Rachael Opadele was a final-year student writing her project at LAUTECH while Olugbenga Owolabi was an Ogbomoso-born and United States-based hotelier, whom the latter was working with following the prolonged industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Recall also that Owolabi’s corpse was flown back to the US for burial, while Opadele had since been buried.
According to Osifeso, on August 8, a combined security team of the Joint Security Task Force in Oyo State, otherwise known as Operation Burst and Western Security Network, code-named Amotekun, stormed the forests in Abaa, Surulere Local Government Area, Oyo, in search of the killers of the final year student and the hotelier and one other person.
The exercise, according to him, led to the arrest of the suspects while further investigation is ongoing.
