SHORTLY after helping to destroy his father’s ancient shrine, founder and pastor of Wellspring of God Ministry, Pastor Alex Itedjere, butchered a teenage girl to death as well as inflicted machete cuts on her mother.
The church of the cleric is located at No. 4 Onomuke Street, Agbarha-Otor in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.
Stonix News gathered that the mutilated body of the deceased was found in the abode of the pastor on Friday morning with bloodstains on the wall.
Mother of the deceased also suffered machete cuts in her hand courtesy of the cleric who went amok.
The cleric was said to have earlier destroyed his father’s shrine in the community, but it could not be ascertained if the gods he ruffled were the ones that went after him.
Pastor Itedjere’s reason for butchering the girl has not been ascertained.
Meanwhile, but for the timely intervention of security agents attached to B’ Division of the Nigeria Police, Agbarha-Otor, the suspect would have suffered a mob action.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and arrest of the suspect to Stonix News on Saturday morning.
“But he allegedly murdered her and also used a machete on her mother,” Edafe noted in a terse WhatsApp chat.
