RESIDENTS of Warri and environs are to await more woes as the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has announced further darkness in the coming days.
Recall that places like PTI, Airport Road, Sapele Road, Effurun Warri and environs have been thrown into darkness for over a month by the disco.
As a result, many micro business, especially cold rooms have witnessed the destruction of their livelihood due to the blackout.
In a viral statement obtained on Monday, on WhatsApp, the BEDC is quoted as saying the blackout would continue to December 18 or more..
It claimed to be replacing an old panel circuit breakers somewhere that would take it days to fix.
“This is also to inform our esteemed customers, that we are replacing the old 11KV Indoor Panel Circuit Breakers at Okoloba ISS, tomorrow Monday 4th December 2023 and to be completed on or before 11th December 2023.
“The affected areas include, PTI, Airport Road, Sapele Road, Effurun, and Warri environs respectively.
“Please kindly bear with us, as Bedc is committed to serving you better.
“RHT Warri Region,” the unsigned WhatsApp message read.
Meanwhile, some residents of Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state said in November 2023, electricity has not been supplied for more than seven times.
