Father Sets Children, Family Car Ablaze

A tragic incident unfolded near the Los Angeles Garment District as a father, identified as Dae Kwon Yun, allegedly set the family car on fire in an alley, resulting in the deaths of his two children.

The 54-year-old father, according to reports, was critically burned but is expected to survive.

Police and fire department were notified on Sunday evening after witnesses saw Yun arguing in Korean with his 11-year-old daughter outside the family’s white Toyota Sequoia that was packed behind 1212 Stanford Street.

Yun forced the daughter into the car, sat in the front passenger seat and shortly after, the SUV erupted into flames.

As the car burned from the inside, Yun opened the door and rolled outside where firefighters found him and put out the flames. Officials later found two children’s bodies in the backseat.

The two children, identified as 11-year-old Ashley and 10-year-old Alexander Yun, according to the Coroner’s Office, were burnt beyond recognition.

Stonix News confirmed that Yun is expected to survive the burns and will be booked on two counts of murder of his children.

The reason behind the heinous act, as of the time of filing this report, remained under investigation.
