NO fewer than 45 women, comprising widows and single mothers, have benefited from an empowerment programme organised by the Chapat Empowerment Foundation International.
The programme was held on Thursday at Heritage Mohall, Dugbe, Ibadan.
The founder of the foundation, Mrs Tosin Pedrol-Ayandokun, was represented at the event by Mr Oladayo Adetona, who delivered her welcome address.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Adetona said the initiative was designed to provide practical support to widows and single mothers through the distribution of food items and cash gifts to ease daily burdens and offer immediate relief.

According to him, supporting women translates to supporting entire households.
“Today’s gathering is about practical empowerment. We are here to support widows and single mothers by providing food items and cash gifts to help ease daily burdens and bring immediate relief.
“We understand that when a mother is supported, her entire household benefits. When women are empowered, their children are empowered too.
“At Chapat Empowerment Foundation, we believe no woman should struggle alone. This initiative is our way of standing in solidarity with you, offering not just support, but dignity, hope and encouragement,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to the foundation’s partners, volunteers and supporters, noting that their generosity would help strengthen families and build a better future for communities.
“You are welcome, you are valued, and we are glad you are here,” he added.
As part of the programme, the Chief Executive Officer of Sunshine Production, Mrs Abimbola Oluwakemisola, conducted a practical training session for participants on the production of liquid soap, shampoo, air fresheners and other household products.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Ajayi Olufunmilayo, expressed gratitude to the foundation for the food items and cash support, praying for continued growth and success of the organisation.
She assured the organisers of her willingness to partner with the foundation in future initiatives and contribute to its progress.
Mrs Ajayi also advised young women at the event to support their husbands and prioritise the care of their children, noting that the children nurtured today would in turn care for their parents in the future.
Sharing her personal experience, she disclosed that she once received a N50,000 empowerment grant from her church, which significantly boosted her business.
The volunteers who supported the programme included Adetona Oladayo, Adewale Olufemi, Raji Mueebat, Imoh Bassey and Ojeniyi Opeyemi.
