Preparations are in top gear ahead of a grand wedding coming up between Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, the Alema of Warri Kingdom and the former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Natasha Akpoti.

Itsekiri-born Chief Uduaghan is cousin of immediate past two-term governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan.
Stonix News gathered that the wedding will take place at Akpoti’s late father’s residence in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State and is scheduled for March 5, 2022.
Akpoti is a beautiful and vivacious single mother of three.
The irrepressible lady had contested the last Kogi Central Senatorial election on the platform of SDP in 2019 and lost the election to Senator Yakubu Oseni of APC.
She subsequently contested the November 16, governorhip election and also lost to incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello of APC.
The Alema of Warri Kingdom, Uduaghan, according to Kogi-based The Nigerian Post, was recently spotted with the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim.
The wedding card
The wedding, believed to be a royal one, is expected to mark the renewal of a long-term relationship between the two kingdoms of Warri and Ebira.
Vociferous Akpoti has been a symbol of hope and strength to women in Kogi State and other parts of the country after she has consistently refused to be cowed by the forces who stood against her candidature in the last elections.
Despite the persecutions, smear campaigns and physical assaults she suffered in the last elections in Kogi State, the lioness shrugged off male chauvinism, stood her grounds to impact her society positively.
The defeats she suffered in the last general elections notwithstanding, delectable Akpoti rose above all odds to embark on empowerment programmes and construction of roads in her hometown including the construction of Okene-Ibillo-Auchi road to end the suffering of commuters along the bad road.
After her wedding to Uduaghan, the Ebira lady is expected to officially declare her ambition for the forthcoming elections in the State.
Chief Uduaghan, a business tycoon, is a cousin of the immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan.

It will be recalled that during the coronation of Omoba Tsola Emiko as the 21st Olu of Warri on August 21, 2021, the Alema of Warri Kingdom, Chief Uduaghan, was the one that welcomed the Atta of Ebiraland, His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi, Dr. Ado Ibrahim.
Billionaire Uduaghan, who hails from Abigborodo, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Webster Group of Companies.
The engineer by profession, who’s known for his philanthropy among all ethnic groups in Delta State, was conferred with the Alema chieftaincy title by late HRM, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri, at his Palace on Saturday October 14, 2017.
