OPERATIVES of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a 59-year-old man, one Alhamdu Yusuf, for allegedly defiling an 18-month-old baby in Bauchi State.
In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakil on Saturday, August 13, the suspect was arrested after the mother of the child reported the incident to Yelwa Police Station.
The mother of the child, one Nenkat Danladi, alleged that she met the suspect who was her neighbour on her bed with her daughter with blood dripping from her private part.
On receiving the complaint, a team of DCB personnel led by DPO Yelwa rushed the victim to ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi for medical examination while the suspect was arrested.
“On 09/08/2022 at about 1900hrs, one Nenkat Danladi ‘f’ aged 31yrs of Yelwan Kagadama lodged a complaint in Yelwa police station that on 06/08/2022 at about 1130hrs she met one Alhamdu Yusuf ‘m’ aged 59yrs of same address on her bed with her daughter one Blessing (not real name) ‘f’ aged 1½yrs of the same address.
“The task has been an easy one, but in line with our Constitutional mandate, we shall remain fierce, tireless and relentless in committing ourselves toward the safety and security of lives and property,” the statement reads.
