Adeboye Bags Oral Roberts University PhD For Distinguished Service, Spiritual Leadership

Ola Kiya, Reporting

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has been awarded an honorary PhD degree from one of the most prestigious universities in the United States, Oral Roberts University.

Adeboye who posted the information on his verified Facebook page on Sunday, expressed shock at the honour from such a foremost institution.

“I recall that day in 1979, when I accompanied my father, Pa Josiah Akindayomi to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend Kenneth Hagin’s Camp Meeting; and, how the power of God moved mightily.

“If anyone had told me then that I would be awarded an honorary degree from one of the most prestigious universities there, Oral Roberts University @oralrobertsu, I would have said the person was joking.

“But, looking back and seeing what God has done so far, I can’t but just say, Thank You, Jesus!,” the octogenarian enthused.

He extended his “sincere appreciation to the leadership of the university,” saying “God bless you all.”

Stonix News reports that the globally-renowned Christian institution, Oral Roberts University, conferred the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree on Pastor Adeboye for his “distinguished service and spiritual leadership in the nations.”

“With thousands of spiritual sons and daughters all around the globe, Dr Adeboye has led the RCCG into expansive outreach in the nations of the world on a missionary movement built on prayer, fasting and bold witness, and Adeboye has written over 60 books,” the Citation to confer the award noted.
