Akpomudje, who, until now served as the Otota (Traditional Prime Minister) of the kingdom, will be formally crowned on Saturday, 15 November 2025, at Otorere (Agbon) Olomu in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.
Stonix News reports that a grand reception will follow immediately after the coronation at the royal palace, opposite the Magistrate’s Court, Akperhe-Olomu, in Olomu.
His emergence follows the demise and burial rites of the 13th Ohworode, His Royal Majesty Macaulay Ovbagbedia, Uhurhie-Osadjere II, from the Uhurhie Ruling House.

The late traditional ruler, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, was crowned on 20 May 2023 but passed in July 2025 after a brief two-year reign—the shortest in the history of the Olomu Kingdom.
Following the completion of traditional rites, Akpomudje, being the next in command, ascends the throne in accordance with the customs of the Olomu people.
The incoming traditional ruler, a respected lawyer and Worldwide President of the Government College Ughelli Old Boys’ Association (GCUOBA), hails from Akperhe-Olomu, a community under the Eyavwien Ruling House.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the Olomu Kingdom Traditional Council (OKTC), Olorogun John Ewenede, the people of the kingdom invited the general public to join them in celebrating the historic coronation.
As preparations intensify, the atmosphere across the Olomu Kingdom is charged with excitement.
Stonix News gathered that the kingdom is already agog with cultural drums, dances, and decorations taking over the communities as indigenes and guests eagerly await the royal procession that will usher in a new era of leadership.
