LIKE in Rivers State, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed the election victory of Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.
The Apex court admitted that the appeal filed by Prof. Sani Yahaya of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) lacked merit.
Read by Justice Garuba Lawal, the court upheld the judgement of the lower court saying the court was right to have dismissed the appeal due to incomplete record supplied by the Appellant.
Justice Lawal held that the resolution of Issue One had subsumed other issues raised by the Appellant, as it formed the foundation of the Appeal.
He, therefore, dismissed the appeal due to incomplete record, which, according to him, remains central and crucial to the grounds of the appeal.
Other members of the panel in their respective decisions dismissed the Appeal.
Stonix News reports that the appellants had prayed the Supreme Court to set aside the judgement of the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which affirmed Kefas as the winner of the governorship election that was held in the state on March 18, 2023.
