IN a warm and uplifting atmosphere marked by gratitude, fellowship and celebration, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), National Headquarters, Kampala, on Sunday honoured workers of the mission for what church leaders described as exemplary stewardship over the past year.

Leading the celebration was the pioneer missionary and Country Coordinator of RCCG in Uganda, Pastor Mrs Olubunmi Olushola Monye-Akinshipe, who personally celebrated the honoured workers.
Each recipient received tokens of appreciation, symbolising the mission’s gratitude for their dedication, often rendered quietly and selflessly behind the scenes.

Adding a cultural and communal touch to the celebration, the workers were also treated to a rich selection of traditional Ugandan and Nigerian dishes, including eba, amala and egusi soup, sourced from Abuja Kitchen in Kampala. The shared meal further reinforced the spirit of family and togetherness that has come to characterise the Victory Centre.

Presenting the gifts on behalf of the mission’s leadership, the Pastor-in-Charge of the parish, Pastor Emmanuel Orimogunje, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the workers and ministers for their diligence, commitment and faithfulness to God’s work throughout the year.

He urged them to remain steadfast and unwavering in their service, encouraging them not to “lay down their oars” until the church of God is restored fully to its former glory and even greater heights.

There was an unexpected twist to the event when Pastor Orimogunje, in his characteristically unpredictable manner, called out his visitor from Nigeria, Pastor Ebenezer Adurokiya, to receive a gift, too.

According to him, the gesture was at the directive of the Country Coordinator, Pastor Mrs Monye-Akinshipe, to honour the recipient for his visit and to demonstrate that the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) remains one and the same across all nations.

In a special moment during the ceremony, Pastor Mrs Monye-Akinshipe also presented a gift to Pastor Orimogunje in recognition of his leadership and pastoral labour. She commended him and his team of ministers for their consistent nurturing of the flock at the Victory Centre, describing their efforts as vital to the spiritual growth and stability of the parish.

She further charged both ministers and workers to remain united and steadfast, emphasising love, sacrifice and service to God and humanity as enduring pillars of Christian stewardship.

The honourees cut across ministers, deacons, departmental workers and their heads, in the media, children, choir, ushering and security units—reflecting the inclusive nature of service within the RCCG family.

Those recognised included ministers such as Pastors Emmanuel Orimogunje, Bayo Olajide, Gabriel Enamudu, Min. Wycliffe Omondi and Nakato Dorothy, alongside deacons, departmental leaders, choir members, media personnel, ushers and security staff.

For many in attendance, the event was more than an award ceremony; it was a reaffirmation that faithful service, no matter how small or unseen, is valued and celebrated.

As RCCG Uganda continues its mission across the country, the honouring of its workers at Victory Centre stands as a testament to a church that recognises stewardship as both a spiritual calling and a shared responsibility.
