Deltans Have Great Hopes In Oborevwori’s Govt – Former DESOPADEC Commissioner

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

FORMER Commissioner representing Sapele, Okpe and Ethiope West Local government areas in the board of the Delta State Oil-Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Henry Ofa, PhD, says the people of Delta have great hopes in the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Field Operations Committee chairman in the 2023 general elections, made the remark whine congratulating Oborevwori on his victory at the Court of Appeal in Lagos.

Dr Ofa said that the victory was an attestation to the confidence reposed in the governor’s capacity to fully implement the MORE Agenda in the interest of all Deltans.

The statement described the Appeal Court victory as a confirmation of the confidence Deltans have in the leadership style Oborevwori and the PDP as a party.

Ofa noted that as the Chairman of the Field Operations Committee during the election campaigns, he has observed that Deltans had great hopes in Oborevwori’s administration and would continue to support his commitment to the development of the state.

Recall that the Court of Appeal in Lagos had on Friday November 24 delivered judgment affirming Oborevwori’s victory nearly two months after the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had earlier upheld Oborevwori’s election.

The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, dismissed the petition filed by former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as well as candidates of the Labour Party (LP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The tribunal held that the petition of the APC candidate contained unsubstantiated allegations, noting that it was devoid of merit and speculative.
