AN electrician, Jonathan Kolo, has been electrocuted during an attempt to restore power supply to his household at Deeper Life Road in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.
The incident has thrown the family in grief as Mr Stanley Njoku, a close friend of the family, who confirmed the incident, said that it happened last Thursday.
Njoku said the incident occurred in the night, while the deceased was trying to restore power supply at his residence with the aid of a torchlight.
Njoku said the electrocution was probably possible due to the deceased’s short-sightedness as he was without his glasses while trying to restore the power supply.
Njoku, who lamented the unexpected death of Jonathan, described him as a very diligent electrician who had electrified many houses in the area and even worked offshore as a qualified electrician.
He also added that he died on his way to the hospital, as confirmed by the doctor on duty at the Naval Hospital, Warri.
