THE police in Lagos State, Nigeria, have begun a frantic investigation into the suspected assassination of a couple, Engineer Femi Egbeoluwa and his wife.
Reports say the couple were killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen between last Friday night and early Saturday of March 17 and 18 respectively.
The hoodlums were said to have gained entrance into their home at 1 Adefolu drive, Allen Avenue, Lagos, Nigeria, where they carried out the dastardly act.
Sources said the gunmen as attacked the couple’s s househelp and abandoned her in a pool of her blood.
Security sources said: ”The man is a chief from Ilaro in Ogun State.
“We got the report on Saturday. The man and his wife were assassinated, while their househelp was also injured.”
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the incident.
He said investigation was ongoing, though no suspect had been arrested in connection with the incident so far.
”Investigation is ongoing. Policemen have visited the scene. The househelp was found unconscious, but she is responding to treatment now in the hospital
“The case has been transferred to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba. SCID,Panti. No suspect yet,” he noted.
