FORMER Super Eagles forward, Allen Waobikeze, also known as “Babaoo,” has passed away.
Waobikeze was celebrated for his strong left foot and exceptional ball control. He may not have had extensive playing time with the national team due to strong competition, but his impact on Nigeria’s domestic football scene was significant.

He played for several clubs, including Sharks FC, BCC Lions, and Heartland FC.
The news of his passing was confirmed by his brother, Eli Waobikeze, via a Facebook statement, adding to the recent loss of football icon Peter Rufai.

“On behalf of the Waobikeze family, I would like to announce the peaceful passing to eternal glory of my brother Allen Okwuchukwu Waobikeze. He transitioned at about 7:34 pm CST.
“We appreciate everyone who prayed, called, and visited my brother Okwuchukwu Waobikeze. Every funeral arrangement will be posted.
