FRUSTRATED graduate of the Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Oludare Alabi who angrily returned his certificate to his alma mater, has been given a lifeline of N500,000.
Stonix News gathered that the gift came from the Global Alumni President of LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Solomon Onilede, on Sunday.
Alaba, who was presented a cheque of N500,000, to had recently demanded a refund of his tuition fees from the school management, returning his certificate, which he described as worthless.
The Global Alumni of the institution, it was gathered, also
presented a cheque of a N1 million to a physically-challenged alumnus of the institute, Babatunde Kewejo to support his business as a commercial driver.
Kewejo’s first child was also given scholarship up to the university level by the body.
Alaba had, last week, stormed his alma matter to demand a refund of his school fees and return the certificate which he claimed had added no value to his life.
While presenting the cheques to the duo, Onilede said the financial intervention was to cushion the effect of the harsh economic realities on the selected beneficiaries.
He therefore urged them to use it judiciously.
In his remark, Alabi commended the association for coming to his aid during his trying period, and assured them that the money would be judiciously expended.
Kewejo, on his part, appreciated the association for coming to his rescue and that of his family.
