IN a most horrible manner going by the short video sighted by Stonix News Monday night, six young promising students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) and a driver in a shuttle have been crushed to death.
The horrible incident occurred on Monday afternoon when an articulated vehicle rammed a FUL shuttle bus conveying them to school at Felele, Lokoja.
It was gathered that the accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m on Monday.

The mangled
A witness disclosed that six students, including the driver of the FUL shuttle bus, lost their lives during the accident.
The articulated vehicle was carrying wood and hundreds of jerrycans of palm oil heading towards Abuja.
Unfortunately, the driver lost control and rammed into the FUL shuttle bus, which was already filled with students and about to convey them to school.
The FUL shuttle bus was crushed by the articulated vehicle, causing motorists and passengers travelling along the highway to be stranded.
However, officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) were on hand to rescue some victims who were trapped under the articulated vehicle as well as the dead.
The State Sector Commandant of the FRSC, Mr Samuel Oyedeji, who led his team to the scene of the accident, disclosed to newsmen that he couldn’t give the actual number of those who lost their lives.
He, however, disclosed that those who were injured had been moved to the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja and Kogi State Specialist Hospital, also in Lokoja, for further treatment, while the bodies had been deposited in the morgues of the hospitals for identification.
The video sighted by Stonix News shows mangled limbs and popping eyes of the victims as a crane lifted the articulated vehicle up from the shuttle bus.
The gory picture of the mangled bodies of the victims betrays the impact of the crash on the scene.
The accident further raises how much safety is taken seriously on Nigerian roads and the need for the government to engender stiffer measures in the use of roads by articulated trucks.
