Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Temilade “Tems” Openiyi, has opened up about the career paths she might have taken if music hadn’t worked out.
During a recent Q&A session with fans on X, one user asked what she would be doing today if she hadn’t found success in music. Tems responded that she likely would have gone into a field rooted in numbers and structure.
“I might have been an accountant or a mathematics teacher,” she wrote.

Before fully committing to music, Tems worked as a digital marketer until she resigned in 2018 — a decision she previously described as a “life or death” moment as she battled early career struggles.
