If You Want Nigeria’s Siege Over, Pray, Rather Than Carry Placards, Adeboye Counsels Nigerians

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Thursday night, says Nigerians should pray, rather than carry placards, in order for the siege over Nigeria to be over.

The reverred cleric gave the counsel during the Thursday’s edition of the ongoing 2021 Holy Ghost Congress at the Old Auditorium of the Redemption Camp, along Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

The 2021 Congress is anchored on the theme: The Siege is Over.

Speaking on the sub-theme: ‘The Siege Against My Prayer Life,’ the cleric urged members of the church to always pray, saying without God, man can do nothing.

He warned that the only way out of any siege is to pray, as prayerlessness encourages sieges to persist.

According to him, when Apostle Peter was arrested by Herod and was about to be killed like he did James, the church gathered and prayed, rather than carry placards.

“You want the siege against our nation to be over, pray,” he admonished.

While urging his listeners not to be afraid of coronavirus, but be careful and follow prescribed protocols, he reiterated God’s assurances to him that the virus would only kill those who have been destined to die.

According to him, those who predicted that Africans would be wiped off by the virus because the obvious dearth in medical infrastructure and manpower were utterly disappointed by God.

“I said it in January 1 this year; I was telling them the government has done very well in fighting corona virus. – An enemy we can’t see. I said don’t be careless but don’t be afraid because there is a God who can see the invisible.

“When this Corona virus broke, I cried to God and Daddy answered me. God spoke to me specifically and said, ‘Son, I have heard your cry. Only those whose time has come will die.’

“I heard the number of people who die by snake bite every year is about 2, 000. That means in two years, averagely 4, 000 people die by snake bites. Corona virus has been around nearly two years now.

“By the grace of God, it hasn’t killed 4, 000 yet. Take my word for it; don’t be afraid. You won’t die until your time comes.

“But when pride comes and the moment you think you can do things on your own, God will leave everything to you. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. – James 4:6,” he warned.

STONIX NEWS, however, recalled that Pastor Adeboye, sometime in February 2020, led a prayer procession from the church’s headquarters at Ebute-Meta, Lagos, with placards to end the spate of insecurity and killings in Nigeria.
