The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba Usman, has directed the Police Force on intelligence gathering and deployment of assets within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
This was necessitated following the video released by terrorists and kidnappers of Kaduna-Abuja-bound train passengers threatening the kidnap of President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday.
Stonix News had earlier reported the release of the two-minute video where the kidnapped victims were being flogged and the abductors boasting of plans to abducting President Buhari and other prominent Nigerians to their ‘den’.
In a statement released by Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi and made available to Stonix News, IGP charged the Force Intelligence Bureau to efficiently exchange information amongst other security agencies.
“We are not leaving any stone unturned to fortify the Federal Capital Territory and its environs.
“The IGP has ordered for additional deployment of assets to Strategic areas of the FCT while the Force Intelligence Bureau has been charged on robust Intelligence gathering and information sharing amongst other agencies.
“All residents of the FCT are urged to synergise and be on the same page with the Police and other security agencies in making sure that we forestall any ugly incidences in and around the FCT,” the statement reads.
