A pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Olugbenga Olawore, who was kidnapped last Thursday, has regained his freedom.
Pastor Olawore was kidnapped alongside other passengers while they were in a 14-seater commercial bus heading to Lagos State from Ipapo town in Oyo State.
Olawore, whose mother died in February, is the resident pastor of RCCG, Heavens Gate Parish, Lagos Province 73, along Agbara-Lusada Road, Ogun State.
His freedom was revealed by the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
According to the commissioner, “our people should rest assured that our security apparatus in the state are fully alive and alert to their responsibilities.”
The commissioner said that the state government was monitoring and gauging the security situations within its boundary, efficiently.
Prince Oyelade said “since the incident was reported, government has been in close contact with the state Commissioner of police, Compol Bola Hamzat, his team and our own security teams and all parties have done the needful as usual to ensure the safety of lives and properties of our citizens.”
Oyelade, however, reiterated that Oyo State remains the most peaceful state in the federation.
