JUST IN: Ondo Varsity Final-Year Student Commits Suicide After Church Vigil 

A final year student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, Modupe Ayandare, has reportedly committed suicide after attending a church vigil.

She was still clad in her white garment uniform when she hanged herself in an uncompleted building beside the church she attended.

It was gathered that the deceased walked into the uncompleted building near the white garment church she had the vigil and committed suicide.

Vanguard had reported that Modupe left a suicide note in her bag after hanging herself in the uncompleted building.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution’s students union, Noble Olaogbebikan, in a press release, stated that Modupe committed suicide on Monday around 4:00a.m.

The statement by Olaogbebikan reads, “We express, in strong terms, our dissatisfaction and agony with respect to the death of one of our students, Ayandare Modupe, a 500 level student of the Department of Agronomy.

“According to reports, the deceased was said to have committed today around 4:00a.m after they finished vigil in her church.

“The incident happened beside the church she attended around Sportless Villa.

“The law enforcement agents have been informed already and all hands are on deck in getting to the root of the situation.

“Be rest assured that justice will be served and the law enforcement agents will do a thorough investigation.

“Should you have any information to supply regarding the incident that happened, kindly reach out to the students’ union.

“Stay tuned for further updates as further investigations are underway.”

The image-maker of the Ondo State Police Command, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed that the deceased left a suicide note in her bag before committing suicide at the uncompleted building.

Odunlami stated that police detectives had already begun an investigation to the incident.
