Lifeless Body Of Man Found Hanging On A Tree In Delta

Rita Enemuru, Reporting

The lifeless body of a man was, on Monday, found hanging on a tree in the university community of Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The body, which was found in the early hours of the day close to the overhead bridge of Urhuovie-Abraka, is yet to be identified by residents of the community.

Sources said the lifeless body had a red cloth tied around its neck and hanged on the tree.

It was also gathered that the deceased had a piece of red cloth or red cap in one of his pockets.

The circumstances surrounding the death of the yet-to-be-identified deceased were still sketchy.

A source, however, told a local medium that it “is a clear case of assassination. If it was suicide, his feet will not be touching the ground.

“It was all stage-managed to make it look like he killed himself.”

It was also gathered that there were traces of car tyres that might have been used to convey the deceased to the area before hanging him on the tree.

“The fact that no one has yet identified the dead man shows that he is not from Abraka,” the source reiterated.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, said that police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man.
