Lokoja University Closed Indefinitely After Fatal Student Protests

THE Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, has been shut down indefinitely following student protests over the tragic deaths of five students in a trailer accident at Felele city centre on Monday, 17th February 2025.

Despite interventions from the Kogi State Government and appeals from university management, students barricaded the university gates, prompting concerns over safety.

Following advice from state security agencies, the Vice-Chancellor, after consulting with management, ordered the immediate closure of both campuses.
