NEW statistics from the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ (OPEC) August 2025 Monthly Oil Market Report (MOMR) show that Nigeria maintained its crude oil production slightly above the 1.5 million barrels per day (mb/d) quota set by the group for two consecutive months.
The country’s average daily oil production rose to 1.505 mb/d in June and 1.507 mb/d in July, up from 1.453 mb/d in May.
This marks the third time in 2025 that Nigeria’s average crude production has met the OPEC quota — in January, June, and July.
January recorded the highest output so far this year, at 1.54 mb/d.
Crude production dropped to 1.46 mb/d in February, 1.40 mb/d in March, 1.48 mb/d in April, and 1.45 mb/d in May.
