Gbarain Kingdom, Bayelsa State – The President of the Gbarain Youths Federation, Pere Orufa, has strongly refuted claims of an explosion involving a manifold or pipeline in the region, urging the public to desist from spreading false information.
In a statement issued late Tuesday, Orufa dismissed reports suggesting a blast, warning that such misinformation could cause unnecessary panic and heighten security concerns within the community.

“There was no explosion of any manifold or pipeline in Gbarain Kingdom.
“Stop spreading fake news, thereby creating unnecessary security tensions in the clan,” he stated.
His remarks come amid reports that the military has now moved into the area, possibly in response to the unverified claims.

The presence of security forces has further underscored the sensitivity of the situation, with local residents urged to remain calm and avoid speculation.
The Gbarain Youths Federation has called for responsible reporting and fact-checking to prevent the spread of misinformation that could destabilise the region.
Authorities are yet to make an official statement regarding the military deployment amid the state of emergency imposed on Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu following the breakdown of law and order in the state.
Stonix News reports that an earlier blast on a crude oil trunkline in the state was part of what necessitated the emergency rule in the state.
