Oborevwori’s Supreme Court Victory, Best News In 2024 – Sam Sodje

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

NIGERIA’S ex-international, Sam Sodje, has described, as simply the best news in 2024, the Supreme Court of Nigeria’s reaffirmation of the electoral victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.

Stonix News reports that the apex court, on Friday, dismissed the appeals filed by the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ovie Omo-Agege and Kenneth Gbagi for want of substantial evidence.

In a statement made available to Stonix News on Friday shortly after the verdict, the former Readings FC player said Oborevwori had coasted home victory during the March 18, 2023 governorship election ab initio.

According to the Centre Back football warlord, Oborevwori’s victory is not just for him, but for the people of Delta State political affiliations notwithstanding.

“The judgement of the Nigerian apex court, the Supreme Court affirming and upholding the election of His Excellency, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori as the validly elected governor of our dear Delta State has now put a terminal end to all of the issues concerning the 2023 general elections.

“It’s not a surprise that the governor’s victory was upheld because there was a clear evidence during the general elections that His Excellency enjoyed a general acceptance from the people of Delta State.

“In this light, I want to congratulate our very brand new governor, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori on his victory at the Supreme Court, the people of Delta State, the very competent and respected legal team that worked on behalf of the governor and Delta State for getting us this much desired justice.

“This victory is not just for the governor, but for the people of Delta State irrespective of parties affiliations.

“I want to plead to all Deltans to, henceforth, join hands to work with the governor so as to ensure that every aspect of the governor’s M.O.R.E agenda is fully implemented for the benefit of all deltans.

“Once again, congratulations our governor and a bigger congratulations to Delta State,” the England-born Sam Sodje, enthused.
