Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting
OONI of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has extolled the virtues of Chief Ayirimi Emami of the Ologbotsere dynasty, Warri Kingdom, describing him as a lover of Iwereland with a beautiful heart.
The Ooni made the remarks during his unscheduled visit to Chief Emami’s residence in Warri, Delta State, late Saturday.
The foremost Yoruba monarch had earlier visited the Olu of Warri at his palace in Warri where he intimated Ogiame that he was going to pay Chief Emami a visit.
Stonix News recalled that a frosty relationship had ensued between the Chief Emami and the Ginuwa Ruling House during the selection process of a new Olu early 2021.
Chief Emami, the then Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, had vehemently opposed the selection process that trumped up Prince Tsola Emiko, the incumbent Olu of Warri, HM Ogiame Atuwatse III.
As a result, Chief Emami has been out of sight in the palace and copious activities involving the Olu of Warri whom, the former had, during the imbroglio, consistently insisted he had nothing against.
But speaking at the residence of Chief Emami, Ooni of Ife noted that God Almighty had raised a king for the Itsekiri nation and so all hands should be on the plough for Warri kingdom to progress.
The Oba emphatically clarified that there is no rift between the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III and Chief Ayiri Emami.
The monarch disclosed that the Warri king was actually happy when he told him (Olu) at the palace that he was going to visit Chief Emami.
“We all know and I won’t shy away from it; the issue to me is for them to continue to cement the relationship and togetherness and progress of the entire Itsekiri, Iwere people with our new king.
“I just left Ogiame Atuwatse III now. And I said I was coming to Ayiri’s place! He was very elated.
“I will tell you the truth: there is no issue between the two of them. Please, quote me, I mean two of them.
“They are coming out stronger for the betterment of the entire Warri kingdom. And to the glory of God, I am playing my role very well,” the Ooni declared.
The foremost Yoruba monarch charged the “Ologbotsere (referring to Chief Emami), keep doing what you are doing. You know how to do it. It’s a gift. You don’t want anything to stain your heritage.”
The Ooni of Ife, after extolling his virtues, traditionally blessed Chief Emami whom he described as one with excessive love for Iwereland.
“I don’t go to private houses. God has chosen the king. You love this kingdom more than anything.
“You have a beautiful heart, which a lot of people may not know. We have seen in several fora.
“Ologbotsere, you will live long. The spirit of our ancestors will continue to bless you.
“This is bitter kola, Ologbotsere you will leave long. This is kolanut, it will speak positivity to your life,” he prayed.
The Ooni, lifting a white native chalk, declared further:” this is Efun we use to connect to our ancestors. Anywhere you find this, you find peace, you find vision, you find wealth.
“I touch this and hand it over to you. You will continue to find peace. A lot of abundance you will continue to have in Iwereland. May God be with you and protect you.”
Stonix News reports that His Imperial Majesty was accompanied by his queen during the visit.
