AGENTS of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, went on a vote-buying-spree at Ogunu-Ekurode-Urhobo Ward 11, Polling Unit 11 in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Our reporter who witnessed the electoral malfeasance first hand on Saturday morning while voting had commenced, said more than two agents of both political parties approached her to solicited vote for their parties at a token.
For instance, a PDP agent, who concealed his name for obvious reasons, urged our reporter, who had disguised as a voter, to thumbprint for the “umbrella” on the ballot.
“Sis, na we we oo; you know as we dey run am oo na Umbrella you go put finger oo when you do finish come meet me for back make I write your name and your account number; something go drop for your account,” the young man assured.
True to the promise, our reporter, who also voted, was accosted by one of the PDP agents, a female, who wrote down her name and account details after which she
“To cut the long story short, I voted for the candidate of my choice. After voting, she (PDP) met me outside to write down my name and account number. There were about 30 names on the list before me,” she noted.
She also reported that some APC agents she spotted were also doing the same thing as they curried the favour of the voters with a promise of a stipend done through electronic transfer.
